What is the Network for Latino People (NFLP)?

The Network for Latino People is a community coalition, comprised of 55 member organizations, that identifies and supports the needs of the Spanish-speaking population of Greater Williamsburg.

Mission

The mission of the Network for Latino People is to develop strategies and plans for supporting and understanding the diverse needs and challenges of the Spanish-speaking population in the Williamsburg area. This is achieved through the facilitation of collaborative projects between a variety of community groups that aim to address identified needs and to educate the greater community on the diversity in language and cultural experiences the Latino community offers.

Main Objectives:

  • Develop strategic plans for service to the Latino community
  • Educate the Latino community about resources available and how to become integrated into the community
  • Ensure access to health and community services and resources
  • Increase community understanding of immigrants’ rights
  • Improve the availability of trained interpreters to agencies servicing the Spanish-speaking community

The NFLP is not a direct service program, but builds systems to service Latino families in the Greater Williamsburg area.
